中国载人航天工程新闻发言人10月31日宣布，天宫一号／神舟八号交会对接任务总指挥部第五次会议研究决定，神舟八号飞船瞄准11月1日5时58分发射，10月31日实施运载火箭推进剂加注。
目前，参试各系统技术状态正确，系统间接口协调，地面试验充分，各类预案演练到位，飞行产品和发射场设施设备均处于良好状态，满足任务要求。

China will invite foreign officials and experts to observe the launch of the Shenzhou-8 spacecraft at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest Gobi desert, a spokeswoman for China's manned space program said Sunday. Shenzhou-8 is expected to perform China's first-ever space rendezvous and docking when it joins up with Tiangong-1, or Heavenly Palace-1, a space lab module sent into space in late September. The docking technologies are believed to be crucial for China's ambition to build a permanent manned space station around 2020.
